A red light therapy bed treats the whole body in one session, usually 10 to 20 minutes. Our bed on sale today is the Superhuman Light R1, a commercial clamshell bed at $29,900, or about $620 a month on lease. Delivery, install, training and a 2-year warranty are included.
The same words describe two different markets. That causes a lot of bad purchases.
If you plan to sell sessions, buy a commercial bed. A home bed in a busy spa will run hot, wear fast and may void its own warranty. Our guide to commercial red light therapy beds explains the difference in detail.
Spec sheets are hard to compare because brands measure things in different ways. Focus on these six points and ask for them in writing.
| What to check | Why it matters | R1 |
|---|---|---|
| Wavelengths | Red (about 620–680 nm) and near-infrared (about 800–950 nm) behave differently in skin and tissue. More bands give you more session options. | 630, 660, 810, 850, 940 nm |
| Irradiance | Light power per area, in mW/cm². Ask where and how it was measured. A number with no distance is not useful. | About 100 mW/cm² at the acrylic, independent measurement supplied with quote |
| LED count | More LEDs mean more even coverage. Count alone does not tell you output, so read it next to irradiance. | About 36,000 |
| Power | Tells you what circuit you need and how much heat enters the room. | 208–240 V, 40 A, about 5.5 kW |
| Duty cycle | How many sessions in a row the bed can run without a cool-down. This is the real line between home and commercial. | Built for back-to-back sessions, up to 3 guests an hour |
| Warranty | Look for parts and labour, and confirm it covers commercial use. | 2 years parts and labour |
For a deeper look at the numbers, read our guide to red light therapy wavelengths. Be careful with the phrase “medical grade”. It has no official definition. What does mean something is an FDA 510(k) clearance for a specific use, which is not the same as a device being registered or listed with the FDA. Our page on medical grade red light therapy covers this.
The R1 is a clamshell bed. The guest lies down, the canopy closes, and LEDs treat the front and back at the same time. No turning over halfway.
Regulatory and electrical documentation is supplied with every written quote. See the full R1 specs. More Superhuman models are on the way.
These are market bands across many brands, not our prices. They help you see where a bed sits.
| Tier | Typical price | Built for |
|---|---|---|
| Consumer panels | $99–1,800 | Home use, one body area at a time |
| Home beds | $1,400–22,000 | One household, light weekly use |
| Commercial entry beds | $15,000–30,000 | Spas, salons and studios selling sessions |
| Premium commercial beds and pods | $60,000–150,000 | High-end clinics and longevity centers |
The R1 sits at the top of the commercial entry band at $29,900. For the full breakdown, including install and running costs, see red light therapy bed cost.
You can buy the R1 outright or lease it from about $620 a month over 60 months, on approved credit. Many operators prefer the lease because a few sessions a week can cover the payment. Run your own numbers with our ROI guide and calculator, and see financing for terms.

Commercial entry beds usually cost $15,000 to $30,000. Premium commercial beds and pods run $60,000 to $150,000. The Superhuman Light R1 is $29,900, or about $620 a month on a 60-month lease (OAC).
It is not a good idea. Home beds are built for one or two sessions a day. A business needs a bed rated for back-to-back sessions, with cooling, a commercial warranty and service support.
Most full-body commercial beds need a dedicated 208–240 V circuit. The R1 needs a 40 A breaker and draws about 5.5 kW.
Yes. The R1 can be leased from about $620 a month over 60 months, on approved credit. See our financing page for details.
